JJAI Legacy Partners | Your legacy keeps serving
For owners ready for their next chapter

Sail into your sunset. Your legacy keeps serving.

You have given years of yourself to your business, your people and your community. JJAI Legacy Partners is here so you can step away with peace of mind, knowing what you built keeps growing and keeps doing good long after you have gone.

Sound familiar?

Selling a business is rarely just a transaction

Most owners we speak with are not chasing the highest bidder. They are looking for the right hands. If any of these ring true, we would love to hear from you.

01

Life is calling you elsewhere

Retirement is close, family needs you, or you have simply given this business the years you had for it. You want to leave well, not just leave.

02

Your heart is still in it

You think about your staff, your regulars and the name you have built. The idea of a buyer stripping it back or closing the doors does not sit right with you.

03

You are not sure where to start

Brokers, valuations, contracts and tyre kickers can make the whole thing feel heavy. You want a straight, kind conversation with people who respect your story.

Our promise

The sun sets on your working years. It does not set on your legacy.

We call ourselves legacy developers rather than buyers. We look for businesses with a purpose worth continuing, then bring the systems, care and steady hands that help them grow into their next decade. Every deal has to work for you as much as it works for us.

  • We start with your story. Why you began, what you are proud of, and why now is the time to move on.
  • We keep what works. Your people, your customers and your name in the community are the heart of the business, not overheads.
  • We structure deals with care. Flexible arrangements that can include a staged handover or ongoing involvement, if that suits your life.
  • We are honest about fit. If we are not the right owners for your business, we will tell you early and point you towards someone better placed.
A legacy is not something you leave behind. It is something that keeps serving people, even while you are off enjoying the sunset you have earned. Taga and Sam, JJAI Legacy Partners
Collective growth

When one business is handed on well, a whole community grows with it

We are passionate about growth that is shared, not extracted. When we take on a business, these are the people we are growing it for.

A circle of smiling people looking down at the camera together

You, the founder

A fair outcome, a handover at your pace, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your name still means something.

Your team

Stable jobs, respect for the way things are done, and room to grow into new roles as the business grows.

Your customers

The same welcome, the same quality and the same faces they trust, with the small improvements that make life easier.

Your community

A local business that keeps solving a real problem, keeps money circulating locally and keeps showing up for the people around it.

How it works

A simple, respectful process

No pressure, no obligation, and nothing shared without your say-so. Most owners find the first conversation clarifying, whatever they decide next.

Share the basics

Fill in the short enquiry form below. A few details about your business and where you are at is all we need to begin.

A confidential chat

We arrange a relaxed call or a coffee to hear your story, answer your questions and see whether we are a good fit for each other.

A clear picture

If we both want to continue, we take a careful look at the numbers and the day to day, and share plainly what we see.

A handover that honours you

We agree on a structure and a timeline that works for your life, your team and your customers, then carry the business forward.

Our story

Two people who know what it means to build something from nothing

Taga and Sam together over the years
Taga and Sam, 39 years and counting

We are Taga and Sam. We were both born in Aotearoa New Zealand to Samoan parents, and we have shared more than 40 years of love, family, long hours and hard seasons. We are parents of two and grandparents of four. Legacy is not a word we use lightly. It is the reason we get up in the morning.

Sam

Co-founder

Sam grew up in a family where hard work was the foundation of everything. When money was tight, the only way to get to work was on a bike, and that daily ride became a lifelong reminder of what it means to keep going, even in spaces that were not built for people like him.

He brings that same discipline and resilience to every business we take on, with a focus on operations and making sure the people inside the business are looked after.

Taga

Co-founder

Taga started building her own business at 40, after years of feeling that mainstream business advice was written for someone else. Her work in client services, trauma-informed money coaching and social impact has always centred people who feel unseen or underserved.

She brings strategy, storytelling and a deep respect for the story behind every business, because she knows how much of yourself goes into one.

Why this matters to us

We raised our family before parental leave existed, managed long work hours and financial pressure, and learned how to stay connected through our differences. We know what a small business costs the people who run it, and what it gives back to the community around it. That is why we cannot stand to see a good business run into the ground. We would rather carry it forward, with you and your people at the heart of it.

This is not a listing and nothing here commits you to anything. It simply helps us understand whether we might be the right people to talk to.
